Pantami launches hardware to teach pupils Artificial Intelligence.

At the 39th Edition of GITEX technology week taking place in Dubai, UAE, the Minister of Communications, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, officially launched the Unity Board, a hardware device designed to teach primary school pupils Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things.

The advanced learning device was co-designed and developed by Minister Pantami and a group of researchers, working on how to improve science and technology education in Nigeria.

According to a co-designers, Director at NITDA, Dr. Agu Collins Agu, the Unity Board Education device is a great medium for advancing teach and learning, designed specifically as hands-on learning tools to help today's students build skills for the creative and digital economy through critical thinking.

"When students are free to invent and create, they begin to see technology as a means for solving real-world problems", Dr. Agu said.

He said in with the education agenda of the current administration, the Unity Board will introduce scientific concepts like Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things to kids at an early stage.

“Technological revolution is currently ongoing in the country and it is just a matter of time that Nigeria’s economy will witness dramatic development and growth like those of advanced economies’’, he said.
